My FB Lives from Wenesday (02/20/19) has been uploaded as a bonus podcast episode on Tap Into Your Power: The Amplify Project Podcast. On this episode, we're talking about the question "Do you want to be comfortable or powerful?" with guest host Coach Kevin de la Motte
We’ve all got stuff.
You know, baggage. Old stories we’ve been dragging around, most likely since childhood, that we’ve never examined or let go of.
The problem is that if you never look at your “stuff” it continues to inform your choices and direct your life without you even knowing it.
After years of working with clients who’ve had trouble changing a communication pattern in their life, I can say with certainty there’s always ‘stuff’ behind it.
In today’s podcast we’re talking about where our stuff comes from, how to unearth it, and what to do with it once you bring it to the surface.
Your stuff is pretty powerful. But only because you haven’t unpacked it yet.
I think you’ll find once you open up that old suitcase and begin to empty it out, you'll feel a lot lighter.
Give it a listen and find out.
My FB Lives from Tuesday (02/12/19) has been uploaded as a bonus podcast episode on Tap Into Your Power: The Amplify Project Podcast. On this episode, we're talking about the question "Does your story serve you?"
Once upon a time…
Say those four words and most of us will pull up a chair and eagerly anticipate what comes next. The brain is wired to love and enjoy stories.
Unfortunately, most of the stories we tell ourselves are harmful.
You walk into a room where two people are talking, and they stop. BOOM: enter made-up story.
“Are they talking about me?”
“What did I do?”
“I bet they know something I don’t know…”
Or maybe your type of story is the one you create that happens in the future:
“If I don’t land that client, we’re sunk.”
“How will I handle it if my mom doesn’t make it?”
“My husband is going to cheat on me because I gained all this weight, I just know it.”
Here’s the problem: we communicate based on our stories. And this is a problem because most of our stories aren’t true/never come true!
What wasted energy. If you want to TAP into your power you’ve got to get a hold of your stories and tell yourself some new ones.
In today’s podcast Kevin and I talk about why stories are so dangerous and how to STOP.
Does your story serve you? Give the podcast a listen and find out.
Interested in tapping into your power?
Coach Kevin is ready to help.
“You’re so stupid.”
“Why can’t you ever figure anything out?”
“How did you ever think you’d be able to pull this off?”
Sorry, I wasn’t saying those things to you. But I may as well have been. Because you’re most likely saying them, or something like them, to yourself.
We all have a voice in our heads, a voice that tells us we shouldn’t even try, that we’re going to screw it up, that it’s safer to just hang back and keep the status quo.
That voice is the Inner Critic.
And until and unless you get control of it, you’re going to struggle with tapping into your power.
Personal power is kryptonite to the Inner Critic. Because personal power means you’re willing to risk, willing to fail, willing to put it out there in a big way.
But this is exactly what the Inner Critic is afraid of. It doesn’t want you to get hurt; it wants to keep you safe.
That was all fine and good when we were children, but we no longer need to be kept safe. But the Inner Critic doesn’t understand that. So it keeps trying to limit you. And in order to do that the Inner Critic will wear you down until you have no more resolve left, which is required if you want to live your biggest, best life.
In today’s podcast we’ll talk about how to Identify, Quiet and Manage the Inner Critic. Unfortunately, you can’t ever get rid of it completely. But you can stop it from ruling your life and limiting your power. Give us a listen to learn how.

The first time my coach asked me what I wanted, before I could stop myself I blurted, “What the hell does that have to do with anything?”
Uh yeah. I’s gots issues.
But so do you.
So do many of us.
ESPECIALLY when it comes to want.
Want feels so…indulgent. So…selfish. So…WRONG.
But here’s the problem: without WANT there is no WILL.
As you’re on your own power trip (yep, your trip to power, get it?), things will, well, trip you up. (Sorry, couldn’t help myself.)
When those obstacles roll into your path, if your WANT isn’t clear, if it isn’t big enough, if it isn’t dancing wildly in front of you holding up flashing neon signs, you’ll give up.
Sadly, people give up all the time.
WANT = WILL. And to be a real Power Player (man, I can’t get enough of the play on words today), you’ve got to figure out what you WANT.
It’s not selfish. It’s not indulgent. It’s REQUIRED if you want to TAP into your power.
Today’s podcast goes into this in depth. Check it out.
